Standing tall

She is the grand dame of the Southern California shorebirds. The great lady. The blue boast.

And here, she is waiting for some lunch.  Here is the Bolsa Chica in Huntington Beach, CA.
But, the great blue heron also inhabits the San Gabriel River, Santa Fe Dam and the confluence of the Rio Hondo River and the San Jose Creek, closer to Temple City.
She's so graceful. And I must confess, a photographer's dream, especially an amateur like myself. Because she often stands still.
