standing tall II

I uncovered a cache of photos I had taken with my phone, the Droid Samsung Galaxy S. I had forgotten they were still there. So I thought it was a good time to bring them out. Sorta of like found treasure? Well ...
Here is a shot of downtown Los Angeles from the garden terrace of the Disney Concert Hall at sunset. It was shot on Dec. 18, 2011.
You know that downtown Los Angeles is only about 10 miles from my house? Yes, the distance is close. It is the traffic, I guess, that keeps many from visiting the treasures downtown L.A. has to offer.
If you ever come to Southern California, go off the tourist path and come to downtown L.A. It is varied in architecture. Plus there are many other highlights.
In this shot, the tallest building in L.A. is the Library Tower to the left of the tall building cut off  at the top of the frame. (Actually, I think it is now called the U.S. Bank Tower).
I believe the building reflecting the sunlight is the Aon Building. I hear they have a decent cafeteria with good food and reasonable prices on the sixth floor. To the left of the Bank Tower is the KPMG Building, which is the 16th tallest building in Los Angeles.

  2. Thanks for dropping in! Now that I'm visiting your site I see we were on the same wavelength exactly . . .both shots with smart phones, both of trunkated evening skylines, and both include a crane! This blogging life WILL have its coincidences :-). Looks like you had a great visit to LA in Dec. And BTW, I see you love the Fiat 500, too. Uncanny. :-)

    1. Wow, Kim, I did not realize. I went back and saw your skyline/crane shot. Yes. I also love your shot of the red-colored store with Norwegian artifacts. Red, like the Fiat 500. Now, I'm back to gray skies.
