Best of 2011

I got to thinking, how holidays come and go so quickly. They are like clouds. Wispy, sudden, capricious. The New Year holiday extends into today, Monday, Jan. 2, 2012. And so why not continue to look back on 2011. I already posted yesterday my photo of the year from the TCDP blog. It was for the CDPB January 1 meme. But after looking through so many of the year's posts, I decided to come up with a Best of TCDP album."
So here they are, in no particular order of importance.
A sunny street scene in TC with my favorite palm trees on Live Oak Ave. Quite different than the scene posted yesterday which was from the Dec. 1 windstorm.

I just love the colors and the neon on Las Tunas Drive. Here is one of my hairstylist, Michael.

I called this one Lights on TC Blvd. and it was posted on Feb. 12.

The Temple City Farmer's Market launched in 2011. It is still going strong. (Every Sunday morning at City Hall).

Yes, we had quite a bit of rain in 2011.

An underwater bike way at Peck Road Park. Posted on April 4.

I take a jaunt about 20 miles up Highway 39 to Crystal Lake. The road opened up to the site in April.

Despite closing in 2011, the googie architectural sign remains. Sadly, it is falling into disrepair. The former Goody's Restaurant was on Las Tunas Drive in San Gabriel. It moved to El Monte on Valley Boulevard.

The night before St. Luke's Fiesta. The carvinal rides and booths are an annual event each April in Temple City.

Looking north from a south Temple City street to the mountains.

The fog rolls in at the upper San Gabriel River, near what will become River Wilderness Park.

"Cover and Go" posted on July 28. The Rio Hondo River Bike Trail.

Sexy mannequin at one of the bridal stores that line Las Tunas Drive in the downtown of TC.

I don't remember when I posted this. But I just like this photo.

Down along the warehouses of southern Temple City, the light silhouetted the San Gabriel Mountains. I called this one "In between," posted July 29.

"At the Gate," Aug. 8. The cemetery at the San Gabriel Mission.

Bells. San Gabriel Mission. Circa 1775.

Inside the chapel, San Gabriel Mission.

Labor Day, Sept. 5. "Storm flag" Flies above the stores on Las Tunas Drive.

In Pasadena, the lines and curves of Levitt Pavilion.
