Camellia Festival
The Camellia Festival has arrived in Temple City. A short trip there Saturday afternoon revealed a large crowd and the rides just getting going.
Some in town don't like the thing. It is very family oriented, or should I see pre-teen and teenager oriented. That's fine. It is a safe, fun meeting place for the junior highers and high schoolers. But I say in the evening it should have an element for middle aged and older adults. How about a steak fry? Along with a separate area (tent?) for eating and maybe entertainment? I don't know if they could do raffles, but that would be an added element.
Still, I'm glad the festival went on as planned considering the rain and cold weather we've had previously.
It runs through today.
The festival is located at Temple City Civic Center Park, at Las Tunas Drive between Goldenwest and Kaufman. (That's west of Baldwin Avenue).

Interesting opinion you posted here, Steve, along with your photos of fun.
ReplyDeletethanks Lynette. I got a response on facebook from one of the city council members. He said he would forward my comments to the committee for next year.
