staged eats

Matt and I walked out of the museum looking for a place to eat some lunch when we saw the mother lode of LA lunch spots: A row of food trucks lined up on Wilshire Boulevard. There must have been 10 trucks that day. Tourists swarmed. We did too. We ended up eating some adventuresome southern cooking (take that! Paula Deen) at a truck called Willoughby Road. I had the pulled pork sandwich with the Thai slaw. Matt had the cod po'boy with the bacon and kale.
Then, as we sat down on the office park patio across from the LACMA museum to eat our sandwiches, we saw this scene. Suzanne French or something like that, filming a scene from her food network show. She must have tried this like three times. Finally, after getting direction from the director/cameraman (in blue) she emerged from the taco truck with a tray of authentic tacos saying: "There's three things I know. Food. Travel. And kicking ass!"
OK. Cut! Only in L.A. ....
PS: Want to find some trendy food trucks but don't want to bother with Twitter or staying up all night? Go to the Food Truck Show at Santa Anita Park Race track on Saturday, Jan. 29. It sounds like a winner. I'll see you there.
